STL resolution should be high enough for smooth curves, but not excessive: 0.01–0.05 mm deviation is usually sufficient. Excessive resolution (millions of triangles) increases the file size but does not improve the part.
Curves and holes become faceted – and this will be visible on the finished part.
The file becomes large (tens of MB), yet the technology still cannot reproduce details finer than ~0.1 mm. The configurator displays such models simplified (the original is not changed), and an engineer checks the topology.
If you have a CAD model, upload STEP: it is exact and does not depend on export resolution.
