When to choose

A good fit when…

  • you need high stiffness
  • the part will operate at elevated temperatures
  • you need dimensional stability
When not to

Choose something else when…

  • the part must flex or withstand impacts – choose PA11
Design recommendations

Designing in PA GF (Glass Fibre-Reinforced)

Design guide

Walls

Minimum 0.75 mm (down to 0.5 mm in places). Load-bearing walls – from 1.5–2 mm.

Cavities

Leave at least one 2–3 mm opening in closed cavities to remove powder; several for larger cavities.

Clearances

At least 0.5–1 mm between separate moving parts, so they do not fuse together.

Properties

The glass filler increases stiffness and service temperature (per datasheet – up to ~200 °C), but reduces elongation. Colour: greyish/off-white.
