PA12 GB (Glass Bead-Filled)

PA12 GB is PA12 nylon filled with glass beads (MJF). It is stiffer than PA12, warps less and holds more stable dimensions – suitable for housings, brackets and parts where stiffness matters.

When to choose

A good fit when…

  • you need stiffness and dimensional stability
  • the part is large and flat – lower risk of warping
  • you need stable properties at higher temperatures
When not to

Choose something else when…

  • the part must flex – the glass filler makes it more brittle; choose PA11
Design recommendations

Designing in PA12 GB (Glass Bead-Filled)

Design guide

Walls

Minimum 0.75 mm (down to 0.5 mm in places). Load-bearing walls – from 1.5–2 mm.

Cavities

Leave at least one 2–3 mm opening in closed cavities to remove powder; several for larger cavities.

Clearances

At least 0.5–1 mm between separate moving parts, so they do not fuse together.

Properties

Glass beads increase the tensile modulus (stiffness) and reduce warping, but lower elongation – the part becomes less flexible. Surface: grey, matte.
