Tolerances and Accuracy

Typical 3D printing accuracy: SLA ±0.2 mm / ±0.2 %, MJF and SLS ±0.3 mm / ±0.3 %, FDM ±0.5 mm / ±0.5 % (whichever is greater applies). Specify critical dimensions – we will check them.

How to read accuracy

“±0.3 mm or ±0.3 %” means: for a 50 mm part – ±0.3 mm (0.3 % would be only 0.15 mm); for a 200 mm part – ±0.6 mm (0.3 % is greater than 0.3 mm).

When you need tighter dimensions

  • Specify critical dimensions in the configurator’s advanced settings.
  • Leave machining allowance on holes and shafts.
  • Attach a drawing (PDF) with tolerances.

Can you guarantee an H7 tolerance hole?

Not directly after printing. Such a hole must be reamed after production; note this in the comments.
